Louisville Landscape Designer and Estimator
Job Summary:
The Landscape Design and Estimator must be thoroughly familiar with designing all aspects of landscape construction to include site analysis, grading, drainage, plant selection and placement, hardscapes, water features, lighting, etc.; and design the same utilizing CAD or similar software. This position monitors the installation of landscape and irrigation projects daily and interfaces with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Our Designer/Estimator is the face of the Company with our clients.
The ideal candidate will have a solid business understanding, strong leadership abilities, and great customer relations skills.
Compensation is commensurate with experience, typical range is $55k to $65k dependent upon experience. Profit sharing and other bonuses at discretion of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Find, estimate, bid and secure leads that fit our business profile with project size of $150,000 to over $2M in revenue.
- Conduct Site Audits and perform a client’s needs analysis.
- Collaborate with Internal and external partners.
- Strong Design Aesthetic: Design skills (sketching, drawing, etc.).
- Review design and cost estimates and budgets.
- Participate in project meetings and presentations, both internal and external, throughout all project phases.
- Manage preparation of landscape architectural deliverables for all project phases including site details, materials selection, grading, and planting plans.
- Manage project team workflow, ensuring collaboration, maintenance of schedule, and comprehensive project coordination at all levels.
- Perform construction observation with knowledge of proper construction practices
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage and mentor team members as appropriate
- Procure materials, subcontractors and ensure proper handoff of project to Field Supervisor.
Required Skills/Abilities
- 2 or more years’ experience in Landscape or Construction Designing and Estimating.
- Degree in Landscape Design, Architecture, or equivalent experience.
- CAD experience is preferred.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Proficient in both Oral and Written communication.
- Communicate efficiently and effectively on the telephone or in person, and complete required paperwork.
- Proficient with MS Office suite of software, easily pickup on new technology and software packages.
- Ability to represent the company in a courteous and professional manner.

- Pre-hire background check and observed drug test, required. We are a non-smoking/vaping, drug-free company.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift/carry materials up to 50lbs, move about the work site.
- Exposed to dust, pollen, chemicals, cold and heat in an external environment.
- Requires extended periods of walking, standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting, up to 100% of a workday.
- External environment with all weather and terrain exposure. Safety equipment includes gloves, company uniform, earplugs, and safety glasses.
